Physical Objectives

A good sports program for children can be considered as a stimulant to physical growth. Moreover, the general consensus indicates that participation in a well-balanced sports program could be a good way of maintaining optimum health.

It should be kept in mind that some children have great physical advantages simply because of the particular body build they may happen to have, and others may be at a relatively great disadvantage because of a very heavyset or slight body build. Consequently, our objective should not be to make every child a great athlete. Rather, the physical objectives must be to help each child who participates to develop his or her individual potentialities for controlled and effective body movement as fully as possible.

Two major objectives emerge out of the physical aspect of personality: maintaining a suitable level of physical fitness and development of skill and ability.
